Are you hitting the road today? Be careful: Colorado is one of the worst states to drive in, according to a recent Wallethub study. Based on issues like road congestion, safety and vehicle affordability, Colorado ranked as the sixth-worst state for driving.

Using 2025 data, Colorado rated better than only Washington, Montana, California, Maryland and Hawaii, which holds the title as the country’s worst state for driving…whether because of all those California transplants who don’t know how to drive in snow, or Colorado drivers who think they do.

Recalls Ann:

My company relocated me to the Denver area from Kansas City in 2017. I was originally stunned when I kept seeing ad after ad for traffic accident attorneys on TV. Once I started driving here every day, I was far less surprised.

Responds Aaron:

Colorado drivers are crazy. I’m a Denver native, but have lived in NYC for a long time. Drivers are aggressive enough here, but the speeding, tailgating and aggression in Denver, and Colorado in general, is high level. In contrast, I lived in St Louis once upon a time. They’re known to have the world’s slowest drivers.

Notes Margi:

The creative driving is turning into let’s not get hit by a crazy driver who doesn’t have insurance etc.. it is really really bad in north Denver metro.
