Election Day is coming up soon. And like every election, we have many critical decisions on our ballot.

As a chef and entrepreneur – and Denver local – I care deeply about this city. I’ve spent my career building small businesses in Denver and creating spaces where people can gather, connect and feel proud of their community.

Over the years, I’ve seen Denver grow and evolve. But I’ve also seen how much our city depends on thoughtful, continued investment in the infrastructure, facilities and shared spaces that make daily life work.

Editor's Picks

That’s why I’m supporting the Vibrant Denver Bond – measures 2A through 2E on this year’s ballot.

These measures are about strengthening the foundation of our city that we all rely on: safer streets and bridges, modernized libraries and community centers, and parks and public spaces that bring people together.

I helped lead the group of committed Denver champions who put this bond package together. We collected and scoured through over 7,600 ideas from thousands of people across the city about what they wanted to see from the Vibrant Denver Bond. And we worked over several months to ensure that this final list of upgrades reflected their vision for our community.

When I think about the work so many community members put into forming the Vibrant Denver Bond, I think about it like the perfect box of pastries – something for everyone. From roads and parks to libraries and local spaces, these repairs and improvements will strengthen our neighborhoods, create good-paying jobs and support the small businesses that make Denver thrive.

And as a business owner, I know firsthand that when a city invests in itself, we all benefit. Better infrastructure supports local business. Well-maintained public spaces attract visitors and talent. And modern community facilities make Denver more resilient and inclusive. It’s Denver residents who benefit the most from these repairs and improvements to our essential infrastructure. Because we rely on it every single day.

The best part? These measures won’t raise tax rates. They’re designed to use existing resources responsibly, ensuring Denver keeps up while staying fiscally responsible. Cities across the country use bonds this way, and what sets Denver apart is a proven track record of doing these types of investments well, doing them within our means and delivering the promised benefits our residents expect.

This is about planning for today and the future, not just reacting to challenges. It’s about creating a Denver where small businesses thrive, families feel supported, and every neighborhood has access to the spaces and services that make this city great.

I believe in Denver, in its people, its creativity and its spirit of possibility. That’s why I’m voting YES on 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D and 2E – and I hope you’ll join me! The great thing about elections in Colorado is you don’t have to wait until Election Day. You can vote and return your mail-in ballot today!
