When I agreed to be grilled by Bill Husted for Bar and Grilled, his interview feature that appears in today’s Denver Post, I had an important question to answer (and no, it wasn’t why I would agree to be grilled in the first place): What bar to choose for the grilling?

Denver is a town with many wonderful bars, several of which had the added allure of possibly scaring the khakis off Husted, who’s most at home in Cherry Creek. But ultimately, I went with Jerry Feld’s Club 404, which has a wonderful back story — Feld bought the bar before he was legally old enough to own it — and almost sixty years later, Feld and his family continues to hold down this corner of Broadway. The survival of Club 404 is something to celebrate.

But there are so many other saloons in Denver worthy of toasting. Which bar would you choose for a grilling?
