Chloe, Denver's newest restaurant, lounge and nightclub, opens tonight

I definitely missed the memo -- the one that stipulated that stilettos; perfectly coiffed hair; jaw-dropping, butt-hugging and breast-spilling black dresses; and fresh-from-the-salon manicures were prerequisites for last night's VIP launch party of Chloe Mezze Lounge, a new nightclub/discotheque, lounge-restaurant and social garden (complete with its own bar and a...

I definitely missed the memo -- the one that stipulated that stilettos; perfectly coiffed hair; jaw-dropping, butt-hugging and breast-spilling black dresses; and fresh-from-the-salon manicures were prerequisites for last night's VIP launch party of Chloe Mezze Lounge, a new nightclub/discotheque, lounge-restaurant and social garden (complete with its own bar and a fire pit) that now resides in the former Ruth's Chris square footage at 1445 Market Street.

The cosmopolitan concept, the fourth from Francois Safieddine, whose Lotus Concept enterprises also include Suite 200, 24k and Oak Tavern, opens tonight -- and judging from last night's red-carpet crowd, which was nothing short of a people-watching paradise, there will be more than enough flesh to give your eyes candy for a month.

And the Mediterranean-triggered menu, courtesy of executive chef Jose Guerrero, who's done time in kitchens all over Denver -- including Roy's Cherry Creek, Mao, 975, The Jet Hotel, and Pizza Republica -- showcases some good-looking foodstuffs, too. Take a wander through our photo essay to see what you missed at last night's soiree, what you need to wear if you go, and what Guerrero is cooking up in his kitchen.

One of Chloe's bartenders mixes cocktails during last night's swarm of beautiful bodies. The front room is a "mezze lounge" for dining and drinking, while the behemoth nighclub area struts a dance floor, alternating black- and cream-hued banquettes, two bars and bottle-service. Vegetable kebabs. Moroccan "cigars" with spiced ground beef; they come sided with peppadew aoili.

Executive chef Jose Guerrero. Chloe's mezze platter with manakish and lobster and cucumber gazpacho dabbed with avocado cream. Chloe's lamb slider topped with arugula, Iberico cheese and harissa aioli. Albondigas. Just the start of the short, little dress parade that swept through the entire space and patio.
