Colorado Pint Day Unveils 2025 Glass Design
The Story: The winner is Leanne Bridie.
The Scoop: Bridie previously won a coaster design competition hosted by Cohesion Brewing. She's also designed label artwork for Novel Strand. Colorado Pint Day is hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild, a nonprofit trade organization that promotes independent craft breweries in Colorado, and $1 from each glass sold goes to the organization. Pint Day in 2024 included more than 225 participation locations in Colorado — a record, according to the Guild; the 2025 Pint Day is on March 5.

If River North keeps winning competitions, it may need its own section in this weekly column.
River North Brewery
The Story: The Denver brewery won gold and silver awards.
The Scoop: For the third week in a row, River North has won medals in a major beer competition. Last month, it took home Best American Beer at the Brussels Beer Challenge and nabbed a second-place win at the Denver International Beer Competition. This week, the brewery won a gold medal at EuroStar for its Nightmare Fuel and a silver medal for its Pumpkin Spice Bucket of Bolts. This competition, along with the Brussels Beer Challenge, are considered two of the toughest in Europe.

Beer of the Week
Chosen Family from Lady Justice Brewing, ESB, 5.6 percent ABVFrom the Brewery: Malt-forward English-style red ale with notes of caramel and biscuit. 2021 US Beer Open Bronze Medalist.
From the Glass: The beer pours a beautiful dark amber-orange with a fluffy, off-white head. Big caramel up front in the nose and flavor, but a balancing light citrus and woody hop note makes itself known mid-taste. As the beer warms, some toffee and biscuit malt flavors add depth. The empty glass shows some fantastic lacing as well. This is a well-made beer, and a style that is unfortunately not as common as it once was. I'd love to try this from a hand pull someday.
Availability: On draft and in cans.
