The festival celebrates Celiac Awareness Month, which is dedicated to increasing public awareness of celiac disease and its symptoms, sensitivities and effects, while supporting advocacy for improved food labeling, gluten-free options and medical research. Admission is free.
Holidaily is the first certified gluten-free and woman-owned brewery in the country. Karen Hertz, founder and chief brewista of Holidaily, says she hopes that the brewery helps those who need to remain gluten-free to get their cheers back.
"I started Holidaily after surviving a battle with both melanoma and thyroid cancers. I went gluten-free as a way to care for my health post-cancer, and realized there were no gluten-free beers that didn't sacrifice taste," Hertz says. "Holidaily allows those who are gluten-free (and even those who aren't) to celebrate or just enjoy a delicious beer that actually tastes like beer alongside their friends and family. And Foodie Fest incorporates great local gluten-free food, as well."
