And starting on March 17, chef Figura will change the $34 menu every Tuesday, with a focus on a different region or state of the United States every week — in keeping with the restaurant's name.
Lower48's description of this month's culinary tour:
March 17-23: Massachusetts. With the highest population of Irish Americans, Massachusetts was an obvious choice to launch the new phase of Tuesday Tastings, which kicks off on St. Patrick’s Day. With preparations of corned beef & cabbage and an American take on Irish Soda Bread, this menu is sure to satisfy St. Patrick himself. Don’t forget to wear green!
March 24-30: Vermont. Considered to be the home of the world’s best cheddar, this week’s Vermont-focused menu will showcase how dairy plays a major role in this state, exploring the variety of cheddar cheese, with a special focus on Jasper Hill Farms and Whistle Pig Whiskey. The menu will also explore maple syrup to make for a sweet experience.
March 31-April 6: Oregon. Bringing the bounty of the Pacific Northwest to Denver, this week’s menu will scream spring, featuring fiddlehead ferns, watercress, albacore tuna and the rare yet delicious golden chanterelle.
On Wednesday, March 18, Lower48 and Kim & Jake's Cakes will also offer a gluten-free menu to raise awareness for Celiac Disease. The menu format will remain the same – "each," "small" and "large" plates – but every dish on this special menu will be gluten-free. Kim & Jake's Cakes will also have a market set up in the restaurant, where the baker will sell an assortment of gluten-free baked goods, including breads and cookies.
