As the local brewery scene continues to evolve and grow, we're rounding up the news, events and new releases you need to know about. Here's the latest:

The Year in Colorado Craft Beer
The Story: This week, we published a year-end review; one of the biggest topics was brewery closures.
The Scoop: While over 35 Colorado breweries closed, at least thirty opened in 2024. Some newer breweries are seeing quick success, while other established breweries are expanding. Check out the full story for more.

Grüvi Rebranding
The Story: The booze-free beverage industry continues to get a lot of buzz, and now, one of the most prominent local brands has released a rebrand that focuses on celebrating joy and beverage choice.
The Scoop: Grüvi, the Denver-based maker of non-alcoholic beer and wine, has a new logo, packaging and a brand-new variety pack. That pack includes Weekday Wit, and what the brewery calls the first-ever alcohol-free Imperial IPA. The brewery won a gold medal at the 2022 World Beer Cup for its Golden Lager.

Bart Watson to Head Brewers Association
The Story: He will replace Bob Pease in early January.
The Scoop: Watson was formerly the chief economist at the Brewers Association and is currently the VP of strategy and membership. The announcement has generally been met with positivity. Watson is notable for providing insightful data and trends to the industry over the years.

Holiday Market
Thursday, December 20, 4 to 8 p.m.
Cellar West Brewery
778 West Baseline Road, Lafayette

Cellar West is hosting a holiday market with six different local makers. Cosmic Coyote will be open for food. Expect makers like Vulcan Mine Bakery, Tyrannosaurus Dyes, woolen goods from Big Ash Farm and more. Pick up those last-minute holiday gifts or treat yourself to something neat and local.

2nd Annual Santa Brewery Crawl
Friday, December 20, 5:45 to 10:30 p.m.
Start at Ratio Beerworks Overland, 2030 South Cherokee Street

Four South Broadway breweries will offer special discounts and prizes for this beer crawl. Start at Ratio with $2 off pints and $1 off small pours, then walk down to Public Offering for the same deal. Afterward, skip over to Burns Family for $1 off pints. And finally, end at Monolith for $1 off pints, live Christmas jazz, $7 mixed drinks and half off glasses of wine. The best Christmas costume wins a $100 gift card, with $50 to the runner-up.

Bearded Brewer First Anniversary

Bearded Brewer Artisan Ales
1425 South Airport Road, Longmont

Bearded Brewer is celebrating one year in Longmont. The brewery is originally from Omaha but expanded to Longmont in 2023. Bearded Brewer has made a name for itself with big beers and IPAs, and the party will be no different. Featuring special-release barrel-aged stouts, imperial stouts and a triple IPA collaboration with Lyric Brewing, the party will be rocking all day.
