Second Helpings

On 'Cue: A Second Helping of Westword Food & Drink, July 20-24

This week our music blog featured Savvi Neufer, a cook who's trying to spread a little comfort by cooking for bands under the name Feed the Scene Denver, a personal chef service of sorts that got its start in New York City. Read about how Neufer provides hot meals and "a good dose of mothering" for Denver's musicians.

What else is rocking in Denver's food scene? Gretchen Kurtz found a barbecue joint, Roaming Buffalo Bar-B-Cue, that marches to a Colorado beat, serving smoked lamb and bison ribs in addition to simply prepared but deeply flavorful sausage, pork and brisket. And Mark Antonation slowed down to island time to enjoy oxtail stew at the Jamaican Grill. In other news:

Kathmandu Restaurant II, 1964 28th Street, Boulder
First Draft, 1309 26th Street

Spicy Ginger, 290 South Downing Street
Table Top, 2230 Oneida Street

*Or earlier, and not reported in a previous Second Helping.
