Reader: Who Gets Excited About Fast Casual? Fans of Chick-fil-A?

Zoës Kitchen is the newest out-of-state chain to make its way to Colorado, with a goal of bringing the freshest and healthiest food possible in a fast-casual setting to what Zoës CEO Kevin Miles calls the  "birthplace of fast-casual." The inaugural metro Denver location, at Southwest Plaza in Littleton, is set to open on March 26, with five more rolling out this year in the state. But despite the company's commitment to quality, one reader isn't impressed. Says John:

What kind of low-class trash gets excited about a fast-casual opening up? Must be the same people who camp out at a Chick-fil-A.

Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
