Tough times have hit the Denver location of the Santa Fe Tequila Company. The restaurant, at 901 West 10th Avenue, has closed temporarily, according to its website, just about a year after opening and just five months after a review in Westword.

 

But a manager at the restaurant's second location, 2630 West Belleview, in Littleton (which just opened last month) says the closure will most likely will be permanent. The Santa Fe Tequila Company featured New Mexico-style cuisine and more than sixty tequilas.

 

The economy is to blame, the manager says. But if things improve, there is hope of an undetermined alternate location in a year or so. In the meantime, you'll need to get your tequila fix elsewhere. - Tyler Nemkov
