Finally heard from the Counter — not from an official for the California-based company, where I’d left my message early Tuesday morning, but from a PR representative who’d read my post on the quick closure of the Park Meadows store.
“They’ve closed the location, and don’t have any plans to reopen in Colorado at the moment,” she said. But that could change: The Park Meadows spot was a franchise, and another franchisee could decide that the metro area looks promising.
In the meantime, a new Counter just opened in Houston, one will soon open at the Miami airport, and restaurants are also opening in New York and Palo Alto later this year.
As for the Park Meadows store — the only one in Colorado — diners left with a Groupon for the Counter should contact Groupon directly. “They’ve been really great about responding,” said the PR rep.
