The Monkey Barrel

A few years after opening Rock-a-Billies in Arvada, owner Jimmy Nigg took over the former Salvagetti Bicycle Workshop space on Platte Street, transformed it into the Monkey Barrel and opened it in the fall of 2013. That spot boasted a mural of former Sex Pistol Sid Vicious on the back wall, and showcased punk-, alternative- and modern-rock acts. In 2016, the Monkey Barrel relocated to 4401 Tejon Street and added a kitchen serving Carbone's sandwiches and other fare from Tony Lonardo. The bar serves a number of local craft beers and boasts several TVs for game-day action. Live music, bingo and karaoke are also on tap.
