Soon like tomorrow, when he'll formally step into the ring, one day after onetime Colorado Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton does likewise, to the apparent displeasure of ex-Congressman Tom Tancredo. An e-mail sent out on Sunday by Romanoff's minions lists three campaign events, and instead of playing coy, as did Josh Penry prior to kicking off his run for governor, Romanoff is being upfront, describing the first appearance, in Pueblo, as his "official announcement" and his third, in Denver, as a "campaign launch celebration." Many Democratic Party heavyweights won't be in a partying mood, but Romanoff is going ahead anyhow, even though his decision to take on Bennet represents a risk that can either make his career or set it back years.
