Our friends at the Aspen Daily News have been doing some calculating -- and the digits they've come up with are capable of giving a chill to anyone planning a quick ski trip to Aspen this winter. According to writer Andrew Travers, most visitors to the community fly United -- and the majority check three bags. Because United has instituted new fees of $15 for the first bag, $50 for the second and $125 for the third both coming and going, the result is an additional $380 charge per person. That's a big-enough financial bump to give even moneyed Aspen regulars second thoughts, especially considering the sad state of the economy. If word of this gets out, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn may have the slopes to themselves in a few weeks. -- Michael Roberts
