Dazzle, at 930 Lincoln Street, is already a great jazz bar with an incredibly expansive happy hour, both in terms of items — big burgers and fries (with homemade ketchup) for $5, a pot roast slider that’s a meal in itself for just two bucks — and hours (4 to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on weekends).
And now owner Donald Rossa is making a good bar even better, with a Made in America roster that focuses on spirits made in this state – or, if that’s not possible, at least in this country.
So now at Dazzle you can get an incredibly smooth Colorado Organic Martini, made with Cap Rock vodka and dry vermouth ($8); or a Stranhattan ($12), made with Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, sweet vermouth and a cherry; or a #75 ($7), made with Leopold’s Gin, lemon juice and chilled sparkling wine; or a Palisade Peach ($7), made with Goat Vodka, peach schnapps and OJ.
What can’t you get at this bar filled with American all-stars? A Corona, or just about anything imported from outside this country.
But then, as Rossa points out, “We feature music that’s all-American: jazz. Why shouldn’t we do the same with our liquor?”
