This weekend, it’s all about Mom. Take her to the Denver Public Library, 10 West 14th Avenue Parkway, from 10:30 a.m. to noon today, May 9, for a free tea-service demo. To make a reservation, go to www.denverlibrary.org.

And before you take your mother to brunch on Sunday (check with your favorite restaurant on the off-chance it still has open tables) take her to the City Park Esplanade Fresh Market, which starts its season on May 10. The market, across the street from the Tattered Cover on Colfax, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday through November 1.

Then find out just how good fresh produce can taste at a “Dirt Dinner” at Black Cat, 1964 13th Street in Boulder; chef/owner Eric Skokan’s focus on May 10 is baby lettuces. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. and costs $38; to make a reservation, call 303-444-5500.
