A festival that began in Los Angeles a decade ago, the International Pop Overthrow now goes down throughout the year in over a dozen cities in North America, highlighting acts from each local music community.
Kicking off yesterday at City Hall, the Denver edition of IPO continues tonight (and goes through tomorrow) featuring a handful of local acts — Melissa Ivey, Jim McTurnan and the Kids That Killed the Man and Hot Robots, among them.
Ontario, Canada’s Dave Rave will complete tonight’s diverse and garage-ish line-up, and Saturday is set to feature the throwback pop of Dressy Bessy, Joshua Novak and more, with Malibu, California’s The Broken wrapping up the IPO weekend. International Pop Overthrow is a steal too — each night’s show is only $5.
