I just received an email from Cowboy Curse’s Benjamin Bergstrand, hipping me to an exciting showcase of frontmen-turned-singer-songwriters, coming up at the Meadowlark. Jonathan Bitz and the gang at the ‘Lark have always gone out of their way to spotlight the talent of local sad bastards, but this one is kind of unique because all of the performers also front (or used to front) their own bands.

The promising bill includes: Jason Cain (Astrophagus), Jim McTurnan (Cat-A-Tac), Andy Falconetti (Breezy Porticos), Ted Thacker (Baldo Rex and Veronica) and Bergstrand. Each one of these talented guys (and it’s all guys, notice) has remarkable pop sensibilities, rock-n-roll hearts and the ability to get naked and honest in front of a crowd.
They won’t be literally naked, as far as I know, so don’t be scared. Come on out to the Meadowlark on Friday, February 6th, and watch these rock stars transform into puppy dogs. See you there. –Eryc Eyl
