Rush down to Old Town Littleton this morning for the opening of Lola’s Sugar Rush, a store that stocks old-time and nostalgic candy. Owner Lola Salazar will smash a giant lollipop to open her place at 10 a.m.; it’s located at 2490 West Main Street, where the party will continue through the weekend.
On April 11, chef/owner Andrea Frizzi will start an every-other-Saturday cooking class at his restaurant, Il Posto, at 2011 East 17th Avenue. The classes run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and tuition is $60; to reserve your space, call 303-394-0100. The Vegetarian Society of Colorado is holding its annual expo from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 at the Denver Marriott City Center, with lectures and more than a hundred vendors; the day is topped off by a concert from 7 to 9 p.m. featuring Nellie McKay, Sunyatta, and Amy & the Rock Sisters.
