Denver is rapidly losing its classic dive bars, and now you can add one more to the list — at least temporarily. The Filling Station has locked its doors at 3507 Brighton Boulevard.
The longtime watering hole has its own share of regulars. But over the last year, it’s become a hot spot for hipsters on nights when there are shows at Rhinoceropolis or Glob, just up the street. For the last few weeks, though, those hipsters have had to find another spot to get their Pabst on.
But while the Filling Station is definitely closed, a representative of L&M Property Management, which oversees the property (and who declined to say why it had been shut) promises that the bar will be pouring again in three to four weeks.
