Can’t make it to the Olympics in Vancouver this February? This week the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix drops in on the superpipe at Copper Mountain, and all of the Olympic contenders for Team USA — including 2006 gold medalists Shaun White and Kelly Clark — will be there, as will a posse of Colorado’s top local challengers.
The Women’s Qualifiers get under way on Thursday, December 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; the Men’s Qualifiers competitors kick off on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Head up on Saturday to catch the Finals action, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, and stick around for the Xbox Junior Jam (1 p.m) and the Paul Mitchell Progression Session exhibition (7 p.m.). NBC will air coverage from the event on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Copper contest is the first of five Olympic qualifiers between now and January 23, when the 2010 Olympic team announcements will be made at Park City Mountain.
