For the past 25 years, Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Englewood has been owned by the Museum of Outdoor Arts and operated under a single lease, most recently controlled by Live Nation. Last year, that lease expired, and AEG Live signed on to operate the venue for the next fifteen years.

Check back in this space soon for much more detail on the transition and what it will mean for music fans in Denver, but the most obvious change will be to the space itself. MOA and AEG are spending $6 million to renovate the 32-year-old amphitheatre. That work will continue throughout the full summer concert season, but the biggest structural changes are already in place. The first show at the overhauled venue will be Volunteer Jam next Saturday, May 24, featuring the Charlie Daniels Band, the Outlaws, BlackHawk and Craig Campbell. 14,000 tickets for it were given away to fire and police departments, active military, National guard and other public servants. Tickets are on sale to the general public.

Late last week, photographer Brandon Marshall toured the facility with AEG Live Rocky Mountain CEO Chuck Morris and General Manager Rob Thomas (the latter will also be Fiddler’s Green’s building manager). Obviously the construction process is ongoing — it looks different there today and will again next week.
