The Indulgers
really have impeccable timing. Soon after the release — and overwhelming response to — the band’s debut recording, In Like Flynn, the Celtic band began work on a followup; this month, when all the world turns its thoughts to the Green Isle and its many yummy beers, head Indulger Damien McCarron and his band are ready to release Tan & Black with a series of live performances: a “sneak peak” at the Celtic Crossing in Castle Rock on Friday, March 16, as well as formal launch parties at Fadó on Friday, March 23, and Conor O’Neill’s in Boulder on Saturday, March 24. Like their frequent live shows, Tan & Black demonstrates the Indulgers’ considerable skill at melding the whimsy of the Irish folk tradition with a more modern melodicism. It’s vibrant, Old World-infused stuff. With fiddles. And if you don’t like it, you can kiss a Blarney stone.
