Buntport Theater is working overtime this week with three Biennial-related events in three days. Starting tonight at 8 p.m. with The Power of 29, eight presenters will have nine minutes each to explain — with the aid of slides and/or video — what inspired them during their “power year” (aka age 29). “These people are rule-breakers, so we’ll see what happens,” says Buntport company member Sam Schmitz.

Tomorrow at 8 p.m., Buntport rolls out the podiums for The Great Debate Biennial edition, in which two teams will argue the virtues of Chicago or Boston (band and/or city). Finally, on Wednesday at 8 p.m., the last night of Biennial fun will pit four teams of two artists against each other in Art vs. Art. Each team has an hour to produce art with the theme “Grounds for Play.” In addition, audience members can mill around and play “surrealistic games” (like Exquisite Corpse) or help an architect with community installation construction (i.e., building a pavilion in the parking lot). “The overall theme of all three events is location,” says Schmitz. “It’s about making things from where you are.”
Buntport is at 717 Lipan Street; ticket prices vary. For more information, call 720-946-1388 or go to www.buntport.com.

July 19-21, 8 p.m., 2010
