Calling all photo students! Westword is recruiting photography students for its Spring 2012 Photo Intern Program.
By “student,” we do not mean “a student of life.” There’s no cash offered with this gig, only credits. Don’t bother applying if this doesn’t apply to you.
When news happens, Westword is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $50,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to this community. If Westword matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

Interns work directly with the Art Director. They photograph slideshows on anything ranging from concerts to burlesque shows to waterskiing squirrels. They also shoot weekly assignments for our music, food, news and culture blogs.
Interns who pass muster may also be invited to attend cover shoots. In the past, stellar interns have even photographed covers and cafés for our weekly restaurant review.
It’s important that our interns have people skills. Reliable transportation is a must, and we will reimburse for mileage. And sorry, but this party is B.Y.O.E.: Bring Your Own Equipment.
To apply, send a résumé and links/samples to kristin.bjornsen[at]villagevoicemedia.com no later than December 30. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please include “Spring 2012 Photo Internship” in the subject line.
