Although they call themselves the Flying O.H.N.O. Twins, Alvin Gregorio and Donald Fodness were not actually born as conjoined twins, separated at birth and then reunited later in life. That’s just the story they bring to Face Off: An Endurance Challenge, which starts today at 7 p.m. at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, 1750 13th Street. “We take on the artistic world as the O.H.N.O. Twins,” says Gregorio. “As former high-school wrestlers, we decided to make it look like a high-school dual wrestling meet.”
Face Off comprises five events that are intentionally vague to allow for improvisation and audience interpretation. On the most basic level, there will be a balancing challenge, a tofu-dog eating contest and a main title bout. The winner of each event receives points to chat on Facebook between “rounds” — and audience members are encouraged to bring in laptops and smartphones so that they can chat with competitors. “On some level, it’s about social networks and how they change our relationships and access to our memories,” says Gregorio. And on another level? You’ll have to see for yourself.
Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students and seniors; for more information, call 303-443-2122 or go to www.bmoca.org.
