It’s almost officially summertime, which means that the annual Burning Man desert extravaganza is fast approaching — and also means that Burning Man project fundraisers are popping up to help get some skrilla together before the big event. That’s the purpose of Mile High Mammoth, a party kicking off at 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at 2200 and featuring members of the San Francisco art collective Pink Mammoth. The goal of Pink Mammoth is to offer love, support and resources to a range of artists; every year, the collective builds and hosts a camp at Burning Man. Mile High Mammoth will take over both floors of 2200 for a sultry and dirty house party featuring the group’s Gravity spinning deep, organic house rooted in the clubs of Chicago; its co-founder and executive director (and Denver resident) RyelK; and Pink Mammoth DJ JDubya. Brent Vassar and Brian Jameson, of San Francisco’s Purple Onion Muzik, Denver’s own Sundragon (Rhythm Sanctuary), Milk and Dubl D (Rumpus Royale), and Aspect Audio’s Rescue round out the evening’s roster.
