After 28 years at 7699 West 88th Avenue, Hoffbrau Colorado moved to a new 15,000 square-foot space at 9110 Wadsworth Parkway. It’s about twice as big as the old location and features an expanded stage and more ambitious concert calendar. The grand opening is tonight, May 15 with live music from the Steve Aldridge Band.

Owner Ken Harrell says Hoffbrau had already expanded three times at the old location and they couldn’t expand any further, so they moved to much larger digs. “There’s nothing like it anywhere near here,” he says.

While the old spot had a 300 person capacity, the new location holds 500 people. Every weekend for the last eight years, the venue has been bringing in live music, and Harrell says they plan to have more now, including dance bands like Moses Jones, Thumpin’, Hot Lunch and Phat Daddy on the weekends and country music on Thursdays. Harrell plans to bring in national acts as well. Look for the possible addition of live music on Wednesdays sometime this summer.
