Founded by David Thomas Bailey of FaceMan, the Colorado Composers Collective includes incredibly accomplished musicians who believe that music born of formal training need not be exclusive to symphony orchestras and the like. This week, the Collective (due at the Walnut Room on Saturday, December 3) will be performing what Bailey has described as “mini-concertos” that were written for Greg Garrison, a longtime member of Leftover Salmon, who has also performed alongside the likes of Ron Miles and John Scofield. Not exactly your typical fare, but this show promises to provide a unique and musically rich experience from some of the most gifted musicians around.
