Not every fishmonger is as environmentally conscious as Seattle Fish Company, 6211 East 42nd Avenue. The company is committed to providing the freshest fish possible — but also aware that both overfishing and the presence of certain chemicals in our water sources present real problems for the planet. To celebrate its own sustainability effort — and raise public awareness of the surrounding issues — Seattle Fish Company will host a Sustainability Open House today from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

The venue will also unveil one of the largest privately owned solar arrays in the city, as well as offer music by Marty Jones and the Great Unknowns and refreshments from the Steuben’s Food Service truck and New Belgium Brewery. The celebration is free; for more info, call 303-329-9595 or go to www.seattlefish.com.
