Tracy Morgan knows white people. As one of the more memorable comics during his seven-year run on Saturday Night Live, and as the self-aggrandizing Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock, he’s had his fingers in the Caucasian comedy pie for some time. Inevitably, his standup is chock-full of ethnic observations.

“White people from the suburbs don’t play; they get sadistic,” says Morgan, who performs tonight at the Paramount Theatre, on his HBO comedy special Black & Blue. “White boy will be like [puts on whiny, hysterical voice], ‘All right, Derrick, next week we’re going on a vacation, and one of us isn’t coming back! You’re an asshole! Bullshit! Fuck you!’ But black people, we get creative. We’re like, ‘Pimps up, hoes down, the bitch can’t swim, she’s bound to drizown.’ White boy will chop your ass up and hide you under the floorboards in the basement and then join the search party. That’s that white rage. It’s why the Incredible Hulk could never be a black man — we’re too sensitive.”

Doors open for Tracy Morgan tonight at 8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 1621 Glenarm Place; tickets start at $35.50. For more information, visit paramountdenver.com.
