A 5K race is challenging enough, but for those who want to push their limits, today’s first-ever Double Road Race Denver will test endurance with a 10K that will be followed immediately by a 5K. “The Double Road Race is the only running event with a halftime,” says run creator Bob Anderson.

Each participant will run a total of 9.3 miles through City Park and will be scored by adding the times of each leg together.

The 10KL kicks off at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:30 a.m. Kids can get in on the action, too with the Kids’ Cup Mile Run at 10:15 a.m. A ceremony will take place at 10:45 a.m., with a total of $4,000 awarded to the top finishers.

Advance registration for the Kids’ Cup Mile (kids thirteen and under) is $20; race-day registration is $25. Registration for the Double Road Race is $55 in advance, $60 the day of the race. For information and registration, visit doubleroadracedenver.com.
