The Cheeky Monk has discovered the New World.
The Belgian beer café, which has spots on East Colfax and in Winter Park, plans to open its third location over Memorial Day in Westminster, and the new place will feature more than a dozen hard-to-find American craft beers alongside its Belgian specialties.
“This will be our biggest location and our most unique,” says Tina Pachorek, who owns Cheeky Monk with her husband, James. “There will be two separate bars inside. An Old World bar, and one with a New World theme. You can sit at one on one day and another on the next day and have two totally different experiences.”
Sounds like a good plan.

Cheeky Monk will also add six American craft brew taps in June to its existing lineup of 26 Belgian beers at its location at 534 East Colfax Avenue. These could include local and national brands like Avery, Dogfish Head, Victory, Boulevard and Great Divide.
“The trend has been that craft breweries have been brewing more Belgian-style beers and lot of collaborations,” Pachorek says. “Not to offer those would be a shame, and it will round out Cheeky Monk as a whole. It all comes down to great beer.”
Pachorek believes people from the local craft beer scene shied away from Cheeky Monk at first “because they thought we weren’t interested in craft,” but that may change.
The first Cheeky Monk opened in 2007; the new café will be located inside the former Woodlands Grill in the Orchard Town Center, at 14694 Orchard Parkway.
The new Cheeky Monk will also have room for bigger events, including beer tastings and beer dinners in what it’s calling “the Last Supper Room.” The place will seat 250 people and it has two large patios, one with an outdoor fireplace.
