As half of critically acclaimed dance duo Way Out West (the other half is Jody Weisterhoff), DJ Nick Warren has released his share of classic tracks, cuts such as the seminal ’90s trance anthem “The Gift.” Warren got his start spinning dub and hip-hop in his native Bristol, England, and established himself as a champion of house and trance music while those scenes were still very young. But his career really took off when he linked up with fellow Bristol denizens Massive Attack, opening for the down-tempo legends on tour, as well as remixing several of the act’s songs. Since then, he’s held numerous high-profile residencies at some of the most popular and influential parties in the U.K.. Still one of the most recognized DJs in the world, Warren brings his progressive house mixes to the Church this Thursday, July 7.
