$20,000

Few DJs or producers have matched the level of mainstream success enjoyed by Victor Calderone. Handpicked for his skills by the likes of Madonna and Sting, this New York DJ has watched many of his remixes go to Billboard‘s Top 10, in addition to putting out massive hit singles of his own across the globe. Calderone was introduced to dance music and NYC nightlife at the age of fifteen; by 1991, he’d garnered a record deal with Sire Records for his production efforts under the name Program Two. The relationship ended after only one album, but during that time, he learned quite a bit and honed his talents enough to become one of Gotham’s leading house/tribal DJs. With a well-trained ear, Calderone (slated to appear at Vinyl on Saturday, March 4) has made an effort to preserve the integrity of dance music while incorporating essential pop elements. As a result, he’s earned respectability both underground and in the mainstream.
