$20,000

Corvus Coffee, 1947 South Broadway, is celebrating its grand opening this evening with free beer from Great Divide and food from the The Truffle , art displays and live music.

“We’re excited to be opening our first retail location in Denver,” says owner Phil Goodlaxson. “We have bar seating, traditional espresso — no sugary blended drinks, just fresh coffee and fresh milk in under 10 ounces — and a weekly sandwich sourced from the Truffle.”

Goodlaxson and his wife started roasting small batches for farmers’ markets last year to rave reviews, and currently supply a few local coffeehouses and restaurants. They inked a deal on a space earlier this year, set up shop and are now open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The party starts at 6 p.m. and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Whole Kids Foundation; call 303-913-8906 for more information.
