“Eat*Drink*Play,” urges the logo of Chances, a new joint that just opened today in the spot at 1135 Bannock Street that had been Wolfie’s and, before that, Bambino’s.

Make that half of the spot — the space has been cut back (the other half is a salon), but there’s still plenty of real estate outside for a patio.

Inside, the room is dominated by a big bar — where Cosmos, above, was holding forth on opening day.

The Chances menu features big burgers, salads, sandwiches and paninis, two appetizer pizzas, chile cheese fries and Italian nachos: pepperoni or Italian sausage, olives, mushrooms, onions, Roma tomatoes and mozzarella on cracker chips. But it’s the dessert list that gives you a real idea of just how playful Chances can be: The “Sweet Potatoe Sundae” features vanilla ice cream, sweet potato puffs and maple syrup BBQ sauce, “yum.”

Chances plans to be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week. Fair warning: Right now, while it works out the kinks, Chances is cash only.
