After 25 years, the Las Margaritas at 1035 East 17th Avenue will be pouring its last margaritas on Sunday, December 22, and then close its doors. The space is being taken over by Argyll Whiskey Beer, an updated version of the Argyll that Robert Thompson closed in Cherry Creek more than two years ago.

Initially, Thompson was hoping to put Argyll somewhere in the Baker neighborhood, near Punch Bowl Social, but the Las Margaritas space in Uptown was ideal for his concept. He now hopes to open the new place in late spring; watch for updates on the Argyll website.

Las Margaritas once had several locations in metro Denver; this was the last survivor, and now it’s dried up altogether.
