While other bars around town were getting ready to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Clancy’s Irish Pub was pouring its last beer on Sunday. After that, the Wheat Ridge saloon closed its doors for good; the building where it’s been housed for over four decades is slated for redevelopment.

While the beer is no longer flowing, the memories are still pouring out on Clancy’s Facebook page, where Steve Zielinski posted this photo and wrote:
Hard to believe I will never walk through this door again. Clancy’s was more than just a bar to me, it was family. So many great friendships forged here, far too many to tag everyone, but you know who you are. As they tear down this institution to build yet another monument to consumerism, I ask my Clancy’s family to focus on all the great memories made here. They may be able to tear down the physical building, but Clancy’s lives on in the hearts of each and every one of you. I love and thank you all for making this one of the best times in my life. Cheers!
