Help the Colorado State Parks system today, April 22, by shopping at a local Sprouts Farmers Market.This is the final day of Sprouts’s “Stand Up for State Parks!” program, during which the Colorado markets will match $1, $2 or $5 donations made to Colorado State Parks. Then head to Civic Center Park, which will be full of Earth-friendly activities during the Earth Day Fair, which runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. April 22; for information, go to www.denvergov.org.
Also on April 22, chef/farmer Eric Skokan will break ground at his Black Cat Farms at 1 p.m., then serving a special Earth Day dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. at Black Cat, 1964 13th Street in Boulder. The six-course meal is $49 ($79 with wine); for reservations, call 303-444-5500. In Denver, Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria, 410 East Seventh Avenue, is serving its own four-course Earth Day dinner with wine and a “cocktail half-hour prior to the event,” which starts at 6:30 p.m. The dinner is $39 and reservations are required; call 303-861-9463.
