Before I drank beer and long before I drank wine, I was drinking classic Old-Fashioned cocktails, probably because that’s what my parents drank nearly every night while I still lived at home. And now, more than twenty years later, I still love the drink. And last night, at the bar where I drank it, the bartender was more than happy to make me one, which is saying something, if only because every other peep at the bar was knocking back beers — and that makes sense, because this is a pub that turns out terrific brews…and just happens to pour a killer Old-Fashioned, too.
