KimBa Grill, the fast-casual Vietnamese noodle house located at 1470 South Santa Fe Drive, has closed after eighteen months of business. John Forde opened the spot in March of 2010, but according to a recorded voice message, the location didn’t generate enough traffic to keep the restaurant afloat. “We are sad to say that we have closed the doors to our business,” says the recording, which continues, “The location was just not ideal for us and we didn’t generate enough business to operate any longer.”
Here’s the upside: Forde is the son of Denver chef Ba Forde, who’s been serving up excellent traditional Vietnamese cuisine at her venerable restaurant Kim Ba for over twenty years. And that restaurant is still very much open.
