Ototo, the “little brother” in the Sushi Den and Isakaya Den family from Toshi and Yasu Kizaki, closed on the first day of 2012, but reopened this week with an updated look and menu. The Kizaki brothers are doing a three-week, reservations-only test run before rolling out the full menu and hours.
The new incarnation of Ototo will focus on robatayaki (skewered meats grilled over bincho-tan charcoal), small plates, a small selection of Den Corner’s always luscious raw bar and sashimi, and egg ramen noodle bowls. Sake and Japanese whiskey will feature prominently on the bar list.
In typical Den Corner fashion, reservations are already booked up until then, but here’s a look at what you can expect come late September.
