More changes are coming to Globeville’s nightlife scene. Just a few weeks after the Sidewinder Tavern went on the market, Crash 45 announced last night that this would be its last few days in operation. The bar, which was the Portulaca Cafe and then the White Owl before metal artist Shane Evans took over and transformed the place into a home for art and music, posted its goodbye on Facebook, saying, “The support for this little dive bar in the middle of nowhere has been incredible, and I thank each and every person who ever stepped foot through its doors.”

Crash 45 opened in 2011 and was named one of Westword‘s best new bars that year. It will remain open through Saturday night and host one final goodbye bash on New Year’s Eve. The full announcement is below:

Crash 45 will be closing its doors after almost 4 awesome years. Sorry for the short notice but hope everyone can come down in the next few days and say their goodbyes. The support for this little dive bar in the middle of nowhere has been incredible, and I thank each and every person who ever stepped foot through its doors.

Wednesday we say goodbye to the scooter dudes who have made every Wednesday awesome for 3 years.

Thursday is for all our first Thursday Motorcycle crew who won’t get to see anymore first Thursday motorcycle nights.

Friday we invite everyone who is not into dance music to come say goodbye and join us in a White Elephant gift exchange.

Saturday we end our run with some deep house music and bid farewell to all our Loyal Burnie friends.

Saturday is our official last night of Crash 45, but we will be having a very, very last party on NYE but will be closed until the 31st. Hope everyone can come by and say goodbye. I will miss this place dearly…..Shane
