The day is finally here — after many twists and turns and much anticipation, the Denver Cat Company is now open for business, serving coffee and kitty love on Tennyson Street in the Berkeley neighborhood. Eight adoptable cats will be in house, courtesy of the Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue, at owner Sana Hamelin’s pet project, the first of its kind in Colorado, and only the third in the U.S. (behind Oakland, California and Naples, Florida).

You won’t be able to walk out the door with a new feline companion though; adoption applications are handled through the RMFR. But you will be able to spend some quality time with the cats while you read a book or sip a hot beverage.
The Denver Cat Company will also host painting classes provided by Teller Street Gallery; you can sign up up on the Gallery’s website. The cafe is open until 10:30 tonight, but why wait? The cat’s are there furr you now.
