The identity of Frontier is, well, up in the air, with a new name among the possibilities. But Frontier mechanics seem more interested in the amount of their paychecks rather than the moniker stamped on it — which is why, late yesterday, the union representing them filed an injunction in U.S. District Court in Milwaukee against new parent company Republic Airways Holdings.
The conflict involves 135 Frontier mechanics transferred to Milwaukee — a destination that apparently didn’t thrill an even one-hundred of them, since only 35 agreed to this shift. Of those, just seventeen reportedly showed up for work on Monday — perhaps because after agreeing to head to Wisconsin, they found out that their pay would be frozen indefinitely.
That’s a bummer under any name.
