One of Capitol Hill’s neighborhood favorites, Barricuda’s Restaurant & Lounge closed earlier this month for a remodel. Owner Jin Lee says he expects to reopen his bar on August 26 with a new paint job and new hardwood floors that will replace the worn carpeting.
Barricuda’s has been serving cheap drinks and an eclectic menu into the wee hours at East 11th Avenue and Ogden Street since 1994. According to Lee, this is the third remodel over the past 22 years. Barricuda’s kitchen remains open during the remodel for delivery orders through Grubhub, Eat24 and the restaurant’s website. But in just a couple of weeks, you’ll be able to reclaim your favorite bar stool for a few beers and an order of bulgogi, chiles rellenos or New York strip.
Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
