Yesterday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE, announced the results of Project Wildfire.
The operation, managed by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations, is said to have rounded up 976 gang members and others allegedly tied to them.
The bustees represented 239 different gangs in 282 cities, ICE maintains.
In Colorado, thirteen alleged gang members were taken into custody: five in Denver, two in Glenwood Springs and six in Grand Junction.
Cops in Federal Heights and Aurora were involved in the Denver-area arrests, while the busts in western Colorado were accomplished with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Glenwood Springs and Silverthorne.
No names or mug shots have been released in connection with those arrested in Colorado. However, ICE has made available an array of photos showing the tattoos of reputed gang members, including several from the Colorado arrests. the latter include the one at the top of this post and the three immediately below.
