University of Colorado student Jannick Anderson was hit by a train outside the grounds of the Coachella music festival over the weekend. He died early Saturday morning, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. Anderson, who was 23 years old, was enrolled in a “non-degree unclassified” program at CU. The Daily Camera spoke with several of his friends, who described him as “the most genuine and energetic dude, no matter the situation.”
The situation is being investigated by the Union Pacific police department, which has not released any further details yet. We’ll update you with more information as we learn it. In the meantime, our thoughts are with Anderson’s loved ones. A memorial service will be held this weekend in his home town of San Diego. Read the Camera story for a more in-depth remembrance.
